Graham Cave State Park, Danville Missouri

Had a great stay at the Graham Cave State Park. Had the whole park to ourselves. The Park sets on a Mountain top and it felt like we owned the whole thing. Really enjoyed the cave where they found 10,000 year old artifacts, unfortunately they had to fence the cave off about 75 ft in to protect the Historical site. To walk through the park’s 386 scenic acres, is to walk in the footsteps of the hunter-gatherers who lived in the area’s caves during the ancient Dalton and Archaic period. Graham Cave State Park is a prime hiking location and a boat ramp to the Loutre River provides access for boating and fishing.

Ouray Colorado to Silverton Colorado along the Million Dollar Highway

We will take you on a five minute road trip between Ouray, Colorado and Silverton, Colorado along the Million Dollar Highway. We took this day trip while camping out at the Ouray RV Park and Cabins. You will see old mine shafts that date back to the 1800’s Tailings from the old mines. Miners houses and some very beautiful country.
The Switzerland of America – along the back roads and Scenic Byways: you can see vistas where old Hollywood westerns were filmed and explore high country ghost towns that were once booming mining cities. Ouray is also known as “The Jeeping Capital of the World.” Regardless of the season or the purpose of your visit, a trip to the famous, sulfur-free Ouray Hot Springs Pool is always a treat. With nearly one-million gallons of naturally heated water from deep in the earth, the hot springs pool has been a soothing destination for generations.
The Million Dollar Highway delivers jaw-dropping vista after vista. It was cut from the side of the mountain and became know as the “Million Dollar Highway”. It’s one of the most scenic drives in the USA. There are several legends, though, including that it cost a million dollars a mile to build it, this is in the 1800’s and that its fill dirt contains a million dollars in gold ore.
Silverton is where the video ends, a video on Silverton coming soon.

Black Canyon, Colorado 2016

A short Video While camping at the Cedar Creek Campground Montrose, Colorado we decided to see some of the sites around the area. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is a United States National Park located in Western Colorado and managed by the National Park Service. Not far from the town of Montrose Colorado. The canyon’s name owes itself to the fact that parts of the gorge only receive 33 minutes of sunlight a day. Several canyons of the American West are longer and some are deeper, but none combines the depth, sheerness, narrowness, darkness, and dread of the Black Canyon. Hope you enjoy all the beautiful views and Please like, Subscribe and Share if you like what you see.

While visiting Moab, Utah and visiting the sites in the area we decided to stay at the Horsethief Campground which is operated by the BLM. The price is $7.50 per day and up to a 14 day stay.
There are some compost toilets on sites but no other utilities. It was a great campground a first come first serve basis. This time of year we had no problem finding a spot as you can see in the video. We almost had it to ourselves. Hope you enjoy the video, if so Please like, Subscribe and Share to your friends.

Flying The Canyons, Utah 2016

Please click on Picture to watch video. We camped out at Cadillac Ranch RV Park in Bluff Utah and flew over some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever scene. At 1:03 to 1:09 in the video you will see some ancient Indian cliff dwellings. I almost wanted to do a touch-n-Go at 1:33. At 2:38 you will see some wild Jackasses left over from the old mining days. The other Powered Parachutes in the video are good friends of mine from the B.A.R.F Club out of Texas. WOW, what a great time we had.

Valley Of The Gods & Petroglyphs

Camping at Cadillac Ranch RV Park, Bluff Utah.
While flying the Canyons at Bluff Utah we stayed at the nice little Cadillac Ranch RV Park, a clean small campground in between two Canyons. Very nice Staff to go along with it. Will be glad to stay there again if I’m ever in the area. Lots to see in the area even from the ground, Valley of the Gods, Petroglyphs, 4 corners, are easy day trips from one location. The Petroglyphs located just outside of Bluff Utah it’s over 100 yards of rock art that spans everything from archaic to modern times.  The sheer amount of art along with the time range it represents tells us that this area must have held some special significance. The Sand Island Petroglyph Panel is as easy to find as they come. It is located in the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Sand Island. The rock art found at the Sand Island Petroglyph Panel spans virtually all of the time that humans were known to inhabit the four corners area. Carbon dating of a sandal found in the general area of Sand Island Panel showed that the area was likely occupied as early as 6,500 BC and there are petroglyphs that are possibly that old on the panel. From that prehistoric time until recent times the Sand Island Petroglyph Panel was marked by every succeeding group. From the early Basket maker period through the Pueblo III period Anasazi Indians left record of their habitation of the area. In more recent times the Utes and Navajo also left records in this spot that clearly had a special meaning to them.

Palo Duro Fly-In 2016 Wayside, Texas

Wow! This is a short video of the Palo Duro Canyon Texas Fly-In held in Wayside Texas by the (B.A.R.F) Club. (Bay Area Recreational Flyers). Thanks to the club we were able to camp with them along the rim of the Canyon, the second largest Canyon in the USA, other then the Grand Canyon and tag along with them through four states flying in some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen. Unfortunately mother nature didn’t quite corporate with us. The winds were way to high to fly safely as you can see in the video so we left Texas for New Mexico, then onto Arizona and then into Utah. Had some of the best times ever, meeting some of the club members and flying with them in all the different areas and can’t leave out the eating, and I’m talking about EATING. These people know they can cook up some good grub. My bride and I would like to say special thanks to everyone in the group for letting us tag along for such a memorable trip of a life time and now we’re Proud Members of the B.A.R.F Club.

Red Rock Canyon State Park Hinton, Oklahoma

Beautiful Canyon Park surrounded by Red Rock Walls. Very clean, relaxing and quiet. The road down into the canyon is a little steep and very winding but we had no problem with our forty two ft. fifth wheel. I don’t know if I would try it in winter conditions though.

Bicycle Tour Of Beautiful Woolly Hollow State Park. Greenbrier, Arkansas

Nice campground with a lake and beach. Boating, kayaking, fishing,  swimming  etc…. Very clean with large lots and very nice staff. We enjoyed our stay, we would definitely stay there again.

Daisy State Park, Kirby, AR

Stayed 3 days at the Beautiful Daisy State Park in Kirby Arkansas. Had a blast, very beautiful and peaceful. Would definitely stay there again.

34.807957-101.570408 or 34.808134-101.583287

It is one of these two spots. I can’t remember which field exactly, but you will see campers there.

Thanks Jeff. I was just going to tell Gerry that there are very few landmarks, and that we meet in a field outside of Wayside. The coordinates are probably better. Thanks

Lowanslow.com, Thanks Carolyn Wilson and Jeff Wood, my bride and I definitely plan on meeting up with you guys at the beginning at Wayside TX. See you there:)
