Vogel State Park, Blairsville, Georgia

Video of a beautiful State Park at the base of Blood Mountain built by the CCC’s in the 1930’s. It has many running streams throughout the park, beautiful lake, beach, outdoor gym, putput golf, playground, and ball field. Lots of Cabin rentals and tent camping. Legend has it a fierce battle took place between the Creek and Cherokee nations above the park. The Battle lasted so long the streams at the foot of the mountains ran red with blood. (Hence the name Blood Mountain).

It is one of these two spots. I can’t remember which field exactly, but you will see campers there.

Thanks Jeff. I was just going to tell Gerry that there are very few landmarks, and that we meet in a field outside of Wayside. The coordinates are probably better. Thanks
