Vogel State Park, Blairsville, Georgia

Video of a beautiful State Park at the base of Blood Mountain built by the CCC’s in the 1930’s. It has many running streams throughout the park, beautiful lake, beach, outdoor gym, putput golf, playground, and ball field. Lots of Cabin rentals and tent camping. Legend has it a fierce battle took place between the Creek and Cherokee nations above the park. The Battle lasted so long the streams at the foot of the mountains ran red with blood. (Hence the name Blood Mountain).

Tallulah Gorge State Park,Tallulah, Georgia

WOW!!!! What beautiful scenery in North Georgia. Camped at the Tallulah Gorge State Park and visited the north rim of the Tallulah Gorge. Look close on the river and you might recognize some of the river scenes where they filmed the movie Deliverance starting Burt Reynolds. Beautiful scenery well worth the time.

The Journey Continue’s at Indian Springs State Park Georgia

Traveling through Georgia our Journey brings us to Indian Springs State Park. It’s about half way between Macon and Atlanta and to date one of our favorites. It was a rainy week but still a good week for camping. Any weeks of camping is better then any weeks setting at home watching TV. This is our second time of staying here and loved it each time. The lake you see in some of the pictures is a beautiful lake but unfortunately is being drained at this time for structural work on a flood gate. You will see that there is still quiet a bit of color left on some of the trees which looks awesome compared to all green and no seasons change down in South Florida where we come from.

The Journey Proceeds,Entering Georgia.

Left Grand Lakes RV Resort in Citra Florida headed to North Georgia. We took our time as we were in no hurry, arrived at our camp site right at sundown, just in time to get set up before dark. 56 F, 53 F for tonight’s low. Just right for sleeping weather:)

Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Little White House

While camping at FDR State Park we visited the Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Little White House, located in Warm Springs, Georgia.

FDR State Park,Pine Mountain, Georgia

FDR State Park,Pine Mountain, Georgia. A beautiful state park with a beautiful lake for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating, biking and hiking trails and horse back riding.

James H. Floyd State Park,Georgia

James H.Floyd SP, Georgia. A secret gem of a State Park. Beautiful well maintained and very quiet.
Surrounded by rural countryside and the Chattahoochee National Forest, this quiet park in northwest Georgia offers outstanding fishing on two stocked lakes. You can hike along three miles of lake loop trails and relax in swings while watching for the many bluebirds that live in the park. The trail head to the scenic 60-mile Pinhoti Trail is only a 1.6-mile hike away.
